Women-Owned Cooperatives

Women from across the community have been supported through the process of developing cooperatives. Funded by local initiatives, the cooperatives, each with 15 local women, are provided with Cooperative Certificates from the town council. These certificates have enabled these women to access Community Development Fund (CDF) and other government funded programmes, to help support them implement projects that meet their needs.

As of October 2024, 54 certificates have been supplied, meaning that over 810 women, have benefitted directly from this project, with thousands more across the community indirectly benefitting from the work which is produced as a result of these cooperatives.
